3rd Trimester

Today I am officially in my third trimester! I had my appointment today and my glucose test was good, iron was great, and everything else was well. This month's weight gain was quite good, only 3.6 pounds so hopefully I can stay on track for the next three months. I go back in two weeks so it shouldn't be too hard.

When the doctor was listening to the baby's heartbeat today, it kept skipping. I got a little nervous at first but then she said, oh the baby has hiccups. It was so cute! Along with the hiccups, she was moving around like crazy and the doctor had to keep moving the doppler in order to hear the heartbeat. She said the baby is growing good and the heart also sounds good. I am so happy that everything has gone so well. I am getting very excited to meet this baby.

The underground room has made quite a bit of progress. It has really come together and now officially looks like a real room. Finish work is the only thing left now, and once the taping and sanding is done, it will just need some paint on the walls and maybe some carpet for the floor. It really looks great and I can't wait to see the finished product. Pete and his Dad have worked really hard and I am proud to say that Pete learned alot during this process.

Getting Close!

This whole pregnancy has gone by so fast and it seems like it gets more and more real every day. I feel like I am bigger each day when I get up and I feel tired all the time (I know, it is only going to get worse). The good news is that the heartburn has let up a little.

We have finally picked out the furniture for the baby which was unfortunately out of stock when we went to order it. Hopefully we will be able to order it in the next couple of weeks.

Next week is my glucose test and my monthly doctor's appointment. I am not as worried about the weight gain this time because I know it is not anywhere near as bad as last month. After this appointment, I will go every two weeks.

Still no name, but we will be focusing more on this in the next few weeks. The basement room is in its final stages and I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is done.

How time flies!

It seems like just yesterday that Kristin was a baby. Now her and Pete are about to enter the wonderful world of parenthood. We are very excited! The baby will be here before you know it. With Pete's new office taking shape he will be moving soon. Then comes the task of transforming the room into a nursery. Kristin is having a hard time picking out furniture. They have narrowed it down to two different styles. The next few weeks will be very exciting and busy. Due day will be here soon!

Baby Meryl Finally On The Littlest Bean!

Well, Meryl has finally made it onto The Littlest Bean. He is an amazing animal. At first I was more than apprehensive about him moving in. I have got to say he is just as goofy as the rest of us! Life would not be as much fun without him.

I'm 26 Weeks

I am now 26 weeks along and this baby will be here before we know it. Only two FULL months to go! Both an exciting and quite scary thought. Still no name, so this is something that we will definitely really need to focus on in the next couple of weeks. The basement room will be finished soon and then we can focus on getting the baby's room ready for her arrival.

My last doctor's appointment (last week) didn't go bad but she was a little concerned about the past month's weight gain. Therefore, my next appointment was scheduled for three weeks instead of four and I will have my sugar test a couple of days before. Other than that, all was well. After my next appointment, I will start going every two weeks so we are getting really really close!

I was feeling good as usual but this past weekend, I somehow managed to get the horrible flu that is going around and horrible does not even begin to describe it. I was sick the entire weekend but I am feeling good now except for the continous heartburn that I have had all week long. Hopefully this is not a forcast of the next 14 weeks.

New York Comic Con

Last Friday was the fourth annual New York Comic Con. As always Mark Roe, Steve Witt and myself happened to be in attendance. It was fun as always. We saw many costumed folks, purchased some highly collectable merchandise as well as walk many miles!

Below you will find some highlight photos.

The Expansion Into The Underground Continues

I cannot put into words just how impressed I am with my amount of work we were able to squeeze out of this weekend. Thanks to the combined effort of my brother, father and my self we transformed a kind of studded space into a room with walls and clear and present potential. I want to thank both of them for the help.

Sunday night after the guys left I was able to close in the staircase with sheetrock. This week I hope to get the door home from work so that I can wrap up the dividing wall between the office and the rest of the basement. Then it's just electrical, painting and nailing down flooring option!

Today I Turn 30! It's About Time-What?

That's right today as Punksatony Phil declared 6 more weeks of winter I have turned the big 30. It's not the big deal that most people make of it as far as I am concerned. I look forward to the majestic tranquility sure to come out of the next ten years of life. I have a lot to look forward to.

Here my short list of why being thirty doesn't suck.

  • I get to start out my life as a dad the same year I transition into the big 30.
  • It's the natural progression of life, with age comes wisdom.
  • What I have learned over the first thirty years will make the next thirty more productive.
  • Finally, thirty is the new twenty.

On a more serious note, if I can experience one third of the things I have over the last 3 decades, my thirties will be more fun than my twenties.
